How Your Youth Can Participate

To receive fundraising support for camp, each youth must contribute an item or service to the silent auction. Since this is an auction, their product or service will be delivered regardless of the final bid amount. For example, if a babysitting service receives a final bid of $20 for 10 hours, the commitment remains the same. Please help your youth plan accordingly.

🔹 Best Auction Items – Products and services that appeal to adults tend to do well. Some ideas include:

- Homemade baked goods

- Handcrafted items

- Yard work or babysitting services

- Custom artwork or photography sessions

- Themed gift baskets

- Group efforts (e.g., multiple youth teaming up for a larger service)

🔹 Creating an Advertisement for the Auction

Since bidding will take place throughout the week leading up to the dinner, the success of each youth’s auction item depends largely on their advertisement. We ask that youth create a clear description and/or image of their product or service, which will be posted online for bidders to see. A well-written description that highlights the value of their offering, along with a good-quality picture (if applicable), will help attract bids. Parents can assist in making sure the listing is clear and appealing.

🔹 Parent Involvement – We ask that parents help their youth:

- Plan a product or service that is practical to deliver

- Help with the advertisement

- Ensure timely delivery to the auction winner

- Follow all financial procedures

Financial Guidelines

- No youth should take money directly from buyers. All funds must be handled through a tithing slip to a bishopric member.

- Funds should be deposited through the tithing slip--digital or physical. The amount should be written in the "other" category, with "Youth Camps" written in the notes.

- If any money is accidentally collected, it must be turned in to a bishopric member.

We want every youth to participate in this fundraiser so they can attend camp. If you have any questions or need help brainstorming ideas, feel free to reach out to Kalli Jasper or Aaron Swapp. Thank you for your support in making this event a success!
